Free* First Aid Roll-Out Course

All current AHA CPR instructors
may attend if they have a current BLS Health Care Instructor Card (BLS I). All
expired Instructors must contact Matthew for approval to get into class. This course is designed to teach First Aid
Courses to Heart Saver students that are interested in a First Aid Card. All instructor students MUST have and
bring to class the below instructor material.
Maui county first responders (MFD, MLG, NP, MPD) please contact your
agencies EMS contact agent for access to your department’s resources. MMMC staff please contact Nursing Education.
Date: Tuesday, March 23.
Time: 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Place: Walter J. Cameron Center at 95 Mahalani Street; Wailuku, HI
Students must bring the following to class each day:

Current BLS HCP card and BLS I Card
§
Copies of course reports verifying teaching 4
courses over past 2 years
§
AHA Heart Saver First Aid with CPR, AED and
Pediatric Text (Product # 70-2287, $12.50)
§
Heart Saver First Aid Instructor Manual
(Product # 70-2563, $25)
§
AHA Instructor Manual – Basic Life Support
(Product # 70-2048, $35)
Failure to bring
required materials will result in failure of the course.

Deadline
for signing up is March 11, 2005.
Course Completion
Requirements;
ü
Must achieve > 90% on post provider exam.
ü
Must complete all requirements of BLS I
Course.
ü
Must participate in all aspects of the course
including skills demo.
ü
Must maintain BLS I status.
ü
Must be monitored and turn in report before
card will be issued.
ü
Must teach 2 First Aid courses and 4 BLS
courses over 2-year period.
ü
Must pay for Heart Saver Instructor Card – TBA
